The primary purpose of this book is to present quantitative forecasting of the mid-term probability of large earthquakes both globally and over various regions of the world.? The author used the novel seismic activity regression formula to calculate the probability of an earthquake, in the global and major seismic zones, with any given magnitude at any given time since the most recent earthquake of the same magnitude. 英國連鎖咖啡廳誤食過敏2年釀2死 11月起食品列過敏原標示
英國連鎖咖啡廳Pret a Manger證實，繼2016年有一名15歲女孩因為食物標示不清，誤食含芝麻籽麵包產生過敏反應而身亡後，2017年底也有一名顧客因為誤食含乳蛋白的薄餅而過敏身亡。Pret a Manger先前表示，下個月起將會在食品標示上清楚列出成分，以及過敏原標示，並盡快將新制度推行至英國的所有分店。
15歲女孩娜塔莎（Natasha Ednan-Laperouse）於2016年7月17日在倫敦飛往尼斯的飛機上，吃了購買自Pret a Manger希斯羅機場店的麵包，結果產生嚴重芝麻籽過敏反應。儘管她的父親立即替她注射2劑筆型腎上腺素EpiPen，她仍在幾小時內不治。據信那個麵包的芝麻籽被烘焙進麵包裡面，而不是撒在麵包皮表面，加上食物標示不清，導致娜塔莎誤食喪命。這個案子近期開庭，引發大眾對食物過敏的關注。英國首相梅伊（Theresa May）呼籲檢討食品商標法規。
不過，英國廣播公司（BBC）今天報導，這並不是Pret a Manger讓顧客誤食過敏食物，導致身亡的唯一案例。報導指出，Pret a Manger在2017年又讓一名顧客吃下本來應該不含奶製品的「超級素彩虹薄餅」，導致顧客乳蛋白過敏死亡。這起事件發生於去年12月27日，地點在巴斯分店。
Pret a Manger指出，產品內使用的優格來自素食優格品牌椰優（CoYo），本來不應該含乳製品，但事後檢測，在優格中發現乳蛋白。Pret a Manger表示，巴斯分店的死亡事件發生後，公司立即回收相關產品，並和椰優結束合作關係，正準備進行訴訟。
椰優（CoYo）則是在今年2月回收產品，目前接受食品標準局（Food Standards Agency）以及所在地的地方政府調查。
Pret a Manger發言人表示：「我們對這起不幸事件中顧客的親友致上最深慰問，將盡力提供協助。」
Pret a Manger日前表示，下個月起將會在食品標示上清楚列出成分，以及過敏原標示，並盡快將新制度推行至英國的所有分店。
歐盟規定的食品過敏源包括麥麩蛋白、甲殼動物、軟體動物、蛋類、魚、花生、堅果、大豆、牛奶、芹菜、芥末、芝麻、羽扇豆及二氧化硫等14種。根據法規要求，固體食品中過敏源含量超過10mg/kg，液體食品過敏源含量超過10mg/l的均需進行標註。有關規定已於2014年12月13日正式生效。
